Therapeutic Approach

Grounded in compassion, collaboration, and relational understanding.

At FourRivers, therapy is guided by evidence-informed practices, cultural humility, and respect for each person's unique experiences. We create an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, strengthen relationships, and pursue meaningful change.

We recognize the impact of racism, sexism, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination on mental health and relationships. Our approach encourages thoughtful reflection on how personal beliefs, cultural experiences, and systemic influences shape our understanding of ourselves and others.

Healing begins with curiosity, connection, and a willingness to understand ourselves more deeply.

1.

Individual, Couples & Sex Therapy

Healing begins with being heard, understood, and respected.

At FourRivers, we offer compassionate, affirming, and nonjudgmental therapy for individuals and couples navigating life's challenges, relationships, intimacy, and personal growth.

Our collaborative approach honors your unique experiences, identity, relationships, and goals, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone.

You are more than a diagnosis, your relationships are more than their challenges, and your sexuality is not something that needs to be fixed.

Virtual therapy is available in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Maine, and South Carolina.

2.

Professional Consultation and Training

Supporting professionals, strengthening clinical practice, and fostering meaningful growth.

FourRivers offers collaborative professional consultation and engaging, practical training for mental health professionals, healthcare providers, educators, and organizations.

Our services emphasize clinical confidence, ethical decision-making, cultural humility, and relational understanding. Training topics include suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, systemic psychotherapy, substance use, professional ethics, and burnout prevention.

Our goal is to inspire reflection, deepen understanding, and create meaningful, lasting changes in practice.

Consultation is available virtually, while trainings and workshops are offered virtually or in person.

3.

Clinical Supervision

Strengthening clinical confidence, professional identity, and reflective practice.

As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I offer collaborative, supportive clinical supervision grounded in systemic thinking, cultural humility, and ethical practice.

Supervision provides a space to explore clinical challenges, strengthen therapeutic skills, develop professional confidence, and deepen self-awareness. Together, we examine how personal experiences, relationships, and cultural perspectives influence our work with clients.

Supervision is more than a licensure requirement—it is an opportunity for meaningful professional growth.

Virtual supervision is available, subject to applicable state licensing requirements.

4.

Personal & Relationship Coaching

Supporting personal growth, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful change.

FourRivers offers collaborative, nonjudgmental virtual coaching for individuals and partners seeking personal, relational, or professional growth.

Coaching focuses on strengthening communication, building confidence, exploring intimacy, navigating life transitions, establishing boundaries, and achieving meaningful goals.

Grounded in relational awareness and cultural humility, our approach emphasizes your strengths, values, and capacity for growth.

Coaching is not psychotherapy. It focuses on personal development and practical, future-oriented goals rather than diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.

Coaching services are available virtually on a private-pay basis, subject to applicable geographic requirements.

The Story Behind FourRivers

The first time I visited Cuenca, Ecuador, I experienced a sense of inner peace unlike anything I had known before. I knew immediately that I wanted to find a way to share that feeling with others. From that experience, FourRivers was born.

Cuenca is home to four rivers: the Tomebamba, Yanuncay, Tarqui, and Machángara. The city's name, rooted in Spanish, refers to a basin or watershed.

In English, watershed can also describe a defining moment of transition—a turning point between what was and what will be.

For many, therapy is just that: a watershed moment between what was and what is possible.
